It is impossible to imagine human existence without oxygen. Needless to say, it is even more important for a newborn and premature baby! To measure the level of oxygen in the blood of a newborn baby, neonatologists use a pulse oximeter.

Such a device is used in pediatrics in every intensive care unit. The sensors of the pulse oximeter cover a wide range of measurements, allowing medical professionals to get more information about the current state of the infant. All readings are instantly displayed on the screen. If the oxygen level drops below a critical level, the pulse oximeter will sound an alarm, allowing medical professionals to respond quickly and begin resuscitation.

Often, hypoxia (insufficient oxygen in the blood) can have bad consequences for the health of the baby. These include oxygen starvation; problems with blood vessels, heart; development of respiratory diseases; mental retardation; neurological diseases; brain swelling; pulmonary hypertension; ischemia of various organs. That is why medical personnel need to constantly monitor the level of saturation and prevent it from falling to a critical level.

This neonatal device can save a baby's life even in difficult situations.

The project also aims to purchase modern infusomats (infusion pumps). These are medical devices that allow you to accurately dose and control infusion therapy, which includes the introduction of drugs and fluids into the child's bloodstream. This therapy is mandatory when nursing preterm infants. After all, only infusion pumps deliver intravenous fluids at a precisely calculated rate and protect the brain vessels from fluid overload. The pump also has a control and alarm system, as well as a built-in battery. All this ensures continuous operation of the pump during patient transportation or during a power outage, as well as monitors the proper operation of the pump, triggers an alarm, determining its cause.

By supporting this project, you will help to purchase modern pulse oximeters and infusion machines for three Ukrainian hospitals:

- 3 pulse oximeters to the Khmelnytskyi Regional Children's Hospital of the Khmelnytskyi Regional Council;
- 2 pulse oximeters and 1 infuser to the Podil City Hospital of the Podil City Council of the Podil District of Odesa region;
- 3 pulse oximeters and 2 infusometers to the Central City Clinical Hospital of the Chernivtsi City Council.

Hundreds of children a year, including displaced children, go through the sensitive and professional hands of neonatologists at these three hospitals. Let's help them save children's lives!
