Let’s help Sofia return home!

Now little Sofia looks like an alien creature: there is drainage in the head, a catheter in the neck, a probe in the neck. It is not a picture for the faint of heart. Only yesterday the girl was transported from the intensive care. Today she has to prepare for one more surgery – the sixth one! Sofia urgently needs a new CSF shunt system. But the family with many children that had spent all their savings for previous treatment cannot buy it without our help.

Sofia was born prematurely. A week later she had a brain hemorrhage that later on caused meningitis. These complications also led to hydrocephalus. The baby’s head increased every day, that’s why she underwent a surgery to insert a shunt system. It seemed that everything was all right but four months later little Sofia was hospitalized again. Then she underwent four more surgeries. Meanwhile, the shunt system failed and it must be replaced as soon as possible. But the family exhausted because of months of treatment cannot buy everything that is required. During her life little Sofia spent more time at the hospital than at home. Together we can help her return home!
