The war has robbed our children of their sense of security. Power cuts, cold rooms, constant anxiety, explosions, and the sound of gunfire have become their daily reality. But there are children for whom this stress is many times greater. These are children with severe neurological diseases, developmental disorders, epilepsy, cerebral palsy, autism, and severe speech and cognitive disorders. Their nervous system is extremely vulnerable, as any loud noise can cause regression, panic reactions, seizures, sleep disturbances, increased spasticity, loss of acquired skills, and deterioration of their condition.
That is why psychological help for such children today is not a luxury but a necessity.
Seven-year-old Artem from Brovary has cerebral palsy and epilepsy. Constant explosions, cold weather, and power outages caused a sharp deterioration in his condition: he became severely anxious, his seizures became more frequent, and he stopped saying words he had already learned to pronounce. Thanks to psychological rehabilitation and sensory therapy, Artem gradually returned to stability. He began to pronounce simple phrases again and learned to react more calmly to loud noises.
Mariyka is 6 years old and lives in the Lypova village in the Sumy region. The girl has a severe form of autism. After the shelling began, she lost eye contact, stopped responding to her name, and began to have more frequent tantrums and sensory overload. Thanks to therapy, Mariyka gradually regained her skills. She looks people in the eye again, asks for help with gestures, and reacts more calmly to loud noises.
This is just a small part of the stories where timely assistance stops the regression of the condition and gives a chance to move forward.
That is why we are presenting a charity project to raise funds for providing systematic psychotherapeutic support to 20 children with severe neurological diseases. The cost of one course of treatment for one child is 10,000 UAH. Treatment will take place at the International Center for Rehabilitation and Neurophysiology in Kyiv and will vary for each child, depending on the diagnosis.
The funds raised as part of the project will be used for:
individual sessions with child psychologists and psychotherapists;
corrective programs to stabilize emotional state;
sensory therapy to reduce anxiety levels;
support for parents who persevere every day for the sake of their children.
We can help these children maintain their inner resilience and belief in a safe world. Every donation you make is a chance for them not to lose the skills they have acquired, not to sink into deep anxiety, and not to be left alone with their fears.
Let's help them keep the light inside, even when it's dark around them! Let's give these children back their inner peace!
