Let's save Nastya unnecessary pain. 2
7-year-old Nastia is the third child in a family from Kharkiv region. She is a very cheerful, active and creative child. Unfortunately, a year ago, an incurable disease interfered with her childhood. Nastia became ill. The girl began to feel bad, her tummy hurt. A hospital examination revealed that she had insulin-dependent diabetes of the first type.
After a year of illness, Nastia's mother more or less learned to cope with the new conditions of her life. She counts food correctly, injects insulin, keeps her sugars normal, and controls her glucose levels. Nastia bravely endures 5-6 insulin injections and more than 10 finger pricks a day. After frequent measurements, the child's fingers began to hurt from the needle, and doctors advised her to try the sensors. Thanks to charitable assistance, we managed to provide the girl with sensors for several months. These devices have made life easier for the girl and her mother. There is no need to make constant finger punctures, and the level of glucose control has improved significantly.
Now Nastia is studying in the second grade and is making progress in her studies. The girl is also involved in an art class, but so far online. She loves to draw and dreams of becoming an artist.
Her mother asks for help in purchasing sensors. With them, Nastia can lead a normal life – go to dances, study and create art, and not pierce her fingers 10 times a day to measure her sugar with a glucometer. And most importantly, she can prevent significant harm to her health from sharp fluctuations in blood sugar in time.
