Food parcels for the elderly during the war

This project will help raise funds and provide assistance to the elderly in the Dniprovskyi district of Kherson, Ukraine. According to the territorial center of social assistance, 126 elderly people remain living in this area, which borders the occupied territory and is under constant shelling. Many of them are disabled, bedridden, unable to move around on their own, buy food and need outside help.

In order to provide one elderly person with a basic food package containing non-perishable food for 1.5-2 months, we need to raise UAH 1,150. For the funds raised, we plan to purchase and deliver 126 such basic food packages. One such set contains the following products: buckwheat, rice, oatmeal, pasta, canned fish, canned meat, flour, yeast, oil, sugar, tea, cookies and other products.

The Foundation cooperates with territorial social assistance centers, which collect and provide lists of people in need of assistance and help to implement the transfer of aid. However, the territories bordering the occupied territories remain the most difficult to implement the aid. In such cases, the foundation is engaged with the help of caring local volunteers who deliver aid to hard-to-reach areas during the war, as in the case of the Dniprovsky district of Kherson.

Supporting lonely elderly people is more important than ever. We must continue to work on this issue and act quickly to not only improve but also save the lives of the elderly.
