In 2022, Nastia's family was forced to leave the Donetsk region. Getting used to a new environment, searching for and renting accommodation, living as internally displaced persons – all this directly affected the girl.
A year ago, when the child had barely started first grade, her parents began to notice strange changes in their daughter: a decrease in appetite, activity, and cheerfulness. They attributed all this to her adaptation to school. But one day, after coming home from school, Nastia felt very ill. The doctors made a terrible discovery, sent the girl to intensive care, and diagnosed her with type 1 diabetes.
Over the course of a year, the family gradually got used to living in these new and unusual circumstances. Daily insulin injections in the morning, evening, and before each meal, careful calculation of food intake, and constant monitoring of sugar levels became routine.
In order to avoid traumatizing the child's delicate fingers every hour and to allow her to lead a full life, Nastia needs sensors for continuous blood sugar monitoring. Unfortunately, the family cannot afford to buy them on their own: these life-saving devices are very expensive, especially for an IDP family. Please lend Nastia a helping hand in these difficult times!
