Opening the collection for psychotherapeutic assistance for parents of seriously ill children, we understood that the collection in our city would go slowly, but we did not think that it would be that much. Unfortunately, very few people understand how difficult it is for such parents without therapy and how this affects the life of the child and the whole family.

But the dobro.ua page did not disappoint: help came from here! As soon as we informed the parents that the services of the psychotherapist would be paid for by the foundation, we immediately received several applications. And already the first reviews were inspiring:

“Today was the last of 4 meetings with Inna under the Charity Fund «Pomogaem” program. I cannot say that my soul was healed in 4 sessions, but we started working with a psychologist thanks to the Foundation and continue to meet with her on Skype. It is very easy with her, she listens and hears, and does not just “pat on the head” and sympathize. She clearly sees my "problem" areas and at this stage I can say that she is exactly the specialist who suits me. I am sincerely grateful for the opportunity to begin the path of healing my soul and, perhaps - at least, I really want to - I will still be able to find inner balance and peace, which will give me new strength to fight for the health of my children. Thank you! I hope this program will live and give many other parents an opportunity to understand themselves".

“From the very beginning, from the moment a difficult diagnosis is made, the parents must be accompanied by a psychologist. Parents find themselves in a world they have never been to before. Here you need to understand medical terms, analyze a lot of information. Here we need landmarks that no one gives. You are under pressure from everywhere. Some doctors say: "Your child will be a plant", persuading you to abandon the baby. Others try to mislead that the disease is curable. In the conditions in which Ukrainian parents live now, the appearance of a child with a disability disables the psyche of the parents. Because of this, families break up... Since I have had the opportunity to speak out, I have become much calmer. It is easier for me to get along with other family members, our communication has become softer and calmer. I am grateful to the foundation and the psychotherapist for the opportunity to work with a specialist for free. It is extremely important for us, parents, in order not only to survive, but to live fully in the most difficult circumstances in which we find ourselves."

So we hope that the project will help not only the first 6 parents who contact us, but also many others. We are opening the camp for another 30 psychotherapy sessions and we believe in your support! Let's save parents from despair together!
