Together for the Life of Our Son and Friend
My son Sasha has an aggressive stage of diabetes. Now he doesn’t see anything, his kidneys are about to cease functioning. But still there is hope of recovery, the doctors are sure that after successful kidney transplantation Olexander has all the chances to restore his vision and stop the disease. Help save my son, I beg you! There is nowhere we can get the amount of money we need to purchase necessary medicines. It’s more than 35 000 UAH!
When my son was 10 years old after a routine blood test he was diagnosed with diabetes. Unfortunately, daily medication, regular blood tests and medical examinations were added to Sasha’a active life. My son changed only his diet but not his habits, so active sports, music, friends and studies have always been important to him. The doctors warned me that after 10 years the disease would become aggressive and would affect Oleksandr’s body at breakneck speed. Of course, I found comfort in the hope that medicine would be developing and medication that would be able to stop this terrible disease would be invented. Meanwhile my son finished school and entered the university.
Exactly after 10 years everything started: gradual loss of vision and affection of kidney. Today my son doesn’t see anything, his kidneys are about to cease functioning. But still there is hope of recovery, the doctors are sure that after successful kidney transplantation Olexander has all the chances to restore his vision and stop the aggressive disease. Sasha gave me an example of confidence that everything would be good! I love him very much and I am proud of my son! Help save my son, I beg you! There is nowhere we can get the amount of money we need to purchase necessary medicines. It’s more than 35 000 UAH!
I am grateful to Sasha’s friends, there are a lot of them, they didn’t leave him, they are always close, they always support us and help our little family in our struggle against a big trouble.
Malanka, Sasha’s friend: “I got acquainted with Sasha two years ago when I visited my friends. The boys played the guitar and one of them whom I didn’t know played very well. I talked enthusiastically about something with a lot of gestures which is Natural for me. The guy with the guitar didn’t react to my frantic story. In mid-sentence I was stopped by the guys who said in my ear that he was blind, TOTALLY BLIND. In such a way I got acquainted with Sasha. At first I felt sorry for him and treated him tenderly like a baby. Sasha couldn’t stand it for long. After few weeks of our communication he asked not to dote over him. Gradually we began to see each other more often; sometimes we went for a walk together. It is always interesting to be with an active intelligent and cheerful person. But he is not lucky. Last autumn he fell down, broke both hip and arm, and was lying in bed for a long time. And when he went out with a stick it was enchanting: lame, blind but still smiling! The news of kidney failure shook the ground beneath his feet. Sasha is not optimist, he is a positive realist. Sasha doesn’t give up and doesn’t feel sad. I cannot imagine what I would do in his shoes but he holds his own. Others with his cocktail diseases, that is diabetes, blindness, kidney failure, would organize a pilgrimage of pity around themselves but Sasha continues struggling and does it with a smile on his face! Help us save our friend!”
