At the age of one, Filip was saying his first words, smiling at his family, and eagerly exploring the world around him. No one could have imagined that one day his development would suddenly come to a halt. Today, he continues to fight for every new skill and greatly needs our support.
Filip is 8 years old and lives in Dnipro. He is the long-awaited and only child in his family. He was born healthy and, until the age of one and a half, developed much like his peers. He spoke individual words, responded when spoken to, and delighted his parents with his achievements.
But as he approached the age of two, the situation changed. Filip stopped speaking, developed repetitive movements, experienced sleep disturbances, and lost the ability to point at objects. His parents began a long journey of examinations and consultations with specialists.
Later, Filip was diagnosed with moderate intellectual disability and developmental epileptic encephalopathy. These conditions affect speech, learning, and the acquisition of everyday skills. That is why regular work with specialists is extremely important for him.
Filip does not speak and requires adult assistance in daily life. Yet even small achievements become major victories for him. Thanks to therapy sessions, he knows the basic colors, is beginning to recognize and express his wishes, and interacts better with those around him.
Filip is a kind and gentle child. He loves musical toys, is drawn to other children, and really wants to communicate, but for now it is difficult for him to connect with his peers. This year, he is preparing to become a first-grade student at the "Shans" school for children with special educational needs.
Recently, Filip suffered a severe case of whooping cough, and the illness negatively affected skills that he had acquired with great effort. That is why it is especially important to continue his rehabilitation without interruption.
In July, Filip is expected at the "Ioanniv Center", where he will receive a course of massage therapy and work with a speech therapist and a psychologist.
The cost of the course is unaffordable for a family in which the mother is constantly worried about her son and only the father works. The funds are needed to pay for rehabilitation that will help Filip continue moving forward. Please support the boy financially. Every contribution matters!
