6th Marathon on a Prosthetic: Rehabilitation for the Severely Wounded, Support for Fallen Soldiers' Families.

Roman Kashpur – a soldier with a prosthetic and an ambassador of the Citizen Charity Foundation. On April 21, 2025, Roman will run the 129th Boston Marathon to raise funds for the rehabilitation of severely wounded defenders and support for the families of fallen heroes.

Only six marathons in the world hold the title of World Marathon Major: Tokyo, Boston, London, Berlin, Chicago, and New York.

Roman has already completed five of them. The Boston Marathon will be his sixth and final major! He will become the first Ukrainian soldier with a prosthetic to complete all six legendary marathons.

The Boston Marathon takes place annually on the third Monday of April – Patriots’ Day in the USA. It is the oldest annual marathon in the world, first held in 1897, inspired by the marathon race at the 1896 Olympic Games in Athens.

Roman’s achievements inspire others not to lose hope, to find the strength to rise, and to live a full life. His key message: "Amputation is not a stigma, a prosthetic is not a limitation, and disability is just a record on paper – it does not define your ability to build your own life! Rebuild your mind – change your life."

*London Marathon 2023, Tokyo Marathon 2024.

The goal of the marathon: to raise 2,800,000 UAH for the rehabilitation of 20 seriously injured veterans at the Western Rehabilitation Center in Lviv region and to provide a year of psychological and physical recovery for 50 family members of the fallen defenders in Kharkiv.

The Western Rehabilitation and Sports Center is a leading center for the rehabilitation of wounded people with spinal injuries, loss of limbs, or limb mobility – those who have lost the ability to move freely, but have not lost their strength of spirit.

Every donation is a step towards recovery, another opportunity to get back on their feet!

*Rehabilitation at the Western Sports and Rehabilitation Center.

Support for the families of fallen defenders. The mothers, wives and children of our fallen soldiers need physical and psychological recovery to learn to live with their loss and find the strength to move on. To this end, we will organize comprehensive physical and psychological rehabilitation and educational and therapeutic activities (workshops, art therapy, etc.) in Kharkiv.
