Reagents for Life!

Their names are not just words. They are the names of brave fighters who faced difficulties but did not lose hope and faith in the future.

Seventeen-year-old Boris from Ternopil fell ill with acute leukaemia in the summer of 2023. He managed to pass the first stage of treatment, but now the next critical step awaits him — high-dose methotrexate therapy. This treatment requires special equipment and reagents to control the concentrations of methotrexate in the blood, ensuring effectiveness and safety for the boy.

The story of Khrystya is the story of a choice between life and death. A six-year-old girl from the Ivano-Frankivsk region survived multiple spinal fractures and battled with Burkitt's malignant leukaemia. Thanks to teamwork and high-dose chemotherapy, today she is in complete remission, at home and smiling, having won this difficult battle.

Juliana is fighting two diseases — in addition to aggressive osteosarcoma, she has a severe heart defect. She requires high-dose methotrexate therapy, but this is only possible if concentrations of this drug are strictly controlled to ensure her safe treatment.

And these are just a few names from the many children who are undergoing or preparing for high-dose therapy. Mykhailo, Maxim, Tadei, Andrii, Ulyana, Oleksiy — each name is a story of strength, will and love.

All these children are being treated in the department of oncology, haematology and immunology at St. Nicholas Hospital* in Lviv, in which doctors are in great need of reagents, calibrators, and controls such as:
