Life ring

“I've left home for the first time when I was 11. Many times I was caught and brought to militia where I was beaten and thrown out into the streets again. And I started stealing over and over again. It lasted for 3 years: street – stealing – militia – street. Once, my acquaintances who used to be homeless told me about the “Way home”. I was welcomed warmly and I went to the sea summer camp with the other children. I felt at peace with myself. I do want to become a dance teacher and believe in my future. And I know that “Way home” will help me. But for them I wouldn’t have been alive. Rita, 16.

It ended up happily for Rita but there are thousands of children neglected by their parents for whom the situation is critical. In order to survive they start robbery, prostitution, peddle drugs and also take the drugs. The personnel of the “Way home” foundation will be ready to offer the life ring to every teenager who experiences difficulties. However, they are not almighty.

To be able to keep saving children’s lives from criminal, prostitution and drugs taking the foundation is lack of finances. The sea summer camp which turned out to be a life ring for Rita is a costly project. A special development program is carried out during such camps. These are the trainings for the homeless teenagers, thematic quests, and creativity competitions. Also the experienced psychologists and teachers are working with the children all the time during such camps.

To be able to arrange a sea camp this year the foundation is still raising money. We appeal to everyone who is not indifferent to the broken children’s lives – please help us in raising the necessary sum of money!

This project was canceled, the amount collected is 39 880 UAH. The funds were disposed of in accordance with the Rules, Principles, and Procedures of the Ukrainian Philanthropic Marketplace (UBB) International Charitable Fund and the decisions of the Project Donors.
