Rescuing residents of Kherson region from floods

On June 7, 2023, in connection with the disaster at the Kakhovskaya HPP, the project "Saving the residents of Kherson region from floods" was posted on the dobro.ua website of the BO MBF "UBB", the purpose of which was to collect funds to pay for equipment to eliminate the consequences of the disaster at the Kakhovskaya HPP, as well as humanitarian aid for people affected by the flood.
According to Letter No. 0806/01 dated June 8, 2023, the amount of funds collected for the project in the amount of UAH 348,552.00 was withdrawn. for the provision of urgent assistance to communities of the Kherson region, and the amount of the fee was also increased from UAH 500,000.00. up to UAH 1,000,000.00
So, on June 8, we were able to make the first purchase as part of the project for the Bilozer community, paying for motor pumps in the amount of UAH 336,000.00. (financial report, item 1) In order to eliminate the consequences of flooding, motor pumps became indispensable equipment. These are powerful pumping units that are used to pump large volumes of liquid, in particular water. They have the ability to quickly remove large volumes of water from damaged or flooded areas, and therefore became indispensable tools for quickly pumping out flooded water, as a result of the explosion at the Kakhovskaya HPP.
According to Letter No. 1606/02 dated June 16, 2023, a second amount of UAH 375,314.00 was withdrawn to provide for the communities of the Kherson region.
With these funds, we were also able to make purchases for the affected residents of the Kherson region, namely:
- Two refrigerators, a microwave oven and hygiene products for the Kherson Hospital named after Karabelysha in the amount of UAH 41,661.00. 73 victims live in the institution (financial report, items 2, 3);
- Refrigerator, freezer, boiler and cleaning products for the Kherson Hospital named after Tropinyh in the amount of UAH 59,422.50. 138 victims live in the institution (financial report, items 4, 5);
- Two refrigerators for the Kherson VPU of service and design in the amount of UAH 59,944.00. 135 victims live in the institution (financial report, items 6, 7);
- Two washing machines and detergents for the Kherson Polygraphy Lyceum in the amount of UAH 42,347.00. 80 victims live in the facility (financial report, item 9).
Assistance was also given to the Kherson City Administration in the form of motor pumps and hoses for the total amount of UAH 145,300.00 to eliminate the consequences of the explosion at the Kakhovskaya HPP. (financial report, item 8). An interim report dated 07/19/2023 was provided on all these expenses for the total amount of expenses of UAH 684,674.50. (six hundred and eighty-four thousand six hundred and seventy-four UAH. 50 kopecks)
According to Letter No. 1107/02 dated July 11, 2023, an amount of UAH 198,189.00 was withdrawn. in support of Kherson region communities. For these funds, as well as for unspent funds in the amount of UAH 39,191.50. from the previous tranche was used for the following purposes:
- Purchased chainsaws (2 pcs.) worth UAH 24,607.00. to eliminate the consequences of the flood in the Novovorontsov community (financial report, item 10);
- Purchased and transferred household appliances in the form of washing machines, refrigerators, gas stoves worth UAH 168,375.50. for Chornobayiv communities. 18 residential buildings in Chornobayivka suffered significant damage, the authorities helped people rebuild their homes, and we contributed to ensuring that people had all the necessary equipment for life (financial report, items 11, 12, 13, 15);
- Washing machines worth 44,398.00 hryvnias were handed over to the evacuees of Kherson. in Khersonsk VPU of service and design. At the time of the aid transfer, 80 people lived in the temporarily created shelter (financial report, item 14.).

The total amount of the project funds realized is UAH 922055.00 (nine hundred and twenty-two thousand fifty-five) 00 kopecks. The balance of the collected funds in the amount of UAH 2316.56 (two thousand three hundred and sixteen) hryvnias 56 kopecks is requested to be disposed of in accordance with the Rules, Principles and Procedures.
We are sincerely grateful to BO "MBF "UBB" for assistance in the implementation of this project, because we were able to very quickly and effectively provide assistance to the communities of the Kherson region and overcome this disaster.
