In accordance with the Agreement No. 21 on Cooperation between the Ukrainian Charity Exchange and the Charity Aid Operator of the Pomagayem Foundation dated 08/31/2020 and the Additional Agreement No. 21.79 dated 08/12/16, the project “Rescue Transplantation” was posted on the website of the Ukrainian Charity Exchange “UBB” - dobro.ua - to attract charitable donations for kidney transplantation in Belarus for Solomiya Szeged.

Thanks to the Ukrainian Charity Exchange, UAH 151,561.00 (one hundred and fifty-one thousand five hundred and sixty-one hryvnias, 00 kopecks) was collected, and the project amount was reduced to the amount collected, according to letter No. 329 dated November 17, 2016. This amount was subsequently transferred to the account of the Pomagayem Foundation to pay for Soli’s treatment. But in June 2017, the Ministry of Health of Ukraine agreed to pay for the transplant. Since December 2016, Solomiya had been waiting in line in Minsk for a cadaver organ.
The girl lived for 3.5 years waiting for a donor. According to the doctors' recommendations, a cochlear implantation was planned in Turkey in May 2018. The girl's mother really asked us and UBB to spend money on this, because she already had the main amount from additional sources. According to letter No. 122 dated 08.05.2018, payment for this operation was agreed with UBB. But, unfortunately, Solomiya felt sick with her heart, and then this operation was postponed. The girl was treated at OKHMATDIT. The funds had been on the account of the International Hospital of St. Luke since May 2018.
In the fall of 2018, Solomiya had a kidney transplant in Minsk! That same fall, she was fitted with a cochlear implant (at the state's expense) - due to taking antibiotics in childhood, the child could not hear. Unfortunately, the girl developed transplant pyelonephritis. For two years, she constantly had to take the drug Valcyte. Therefore, according to letter No. 238 dated November 2, 2018, a change in the project's goal was agreed.
In January 2019, we paid for 2 packages of the drug for Solomiya from the funds collected at UBB for 53,214.60 (fifty-three thousand two hundred and fourteen hryvnias, 60 kopecks). We did not spend money on the transplant, which was paid for by the Ministry of Health, but we were able to support the child with medication.
In December 2020, the mother asked us to pay for consumables for the implant, and we paid 8,865.00 UAH (eight thousand eight hundred sixty-five hryvnias, 00 kopecks).
In 2021, we purchased the necessary medications for the girl for the amount of 30,317.05 UAH (thirty thousand three hundred seventeen hryvnias, 05 kopecks), in 2022 - for the amount of 5,204.00 (five thousand two hundred four hryvnias, 00 kopecks), in 2023 - for the amount of 11,848.08 UAH (eleven thousand eight hundred forty-eight hryvnias, 08 kopecks), in 2024 - for the amount of 5,417.92 UAH (five thousand four hundred seventeen hryvnias, 92 kopecks).
In May 2025, we supported the girl with medicines in the amount of 3,190.36 UAH (three thousand one hundred ninety hryvnias, 36 kopecks).
Currently, Solya is abroad, and, according to her parents, she does not plan to return to Ukraine, because the issue of safety is above all else. The girl is used to a calm and peaceful environment, has access to medical care and a clear rehabilitation plan.
Currently, she is undergoing another rehabilitation course related to ear treatment, which is giving positive results. Solomiya feels good: she goes to school, goes swimming, and is learning German. Despite all the difficulties, she is working hard on herself and is already communicating in both her native language and German. Currently, the doctors are satisfied with the results of her tests.
Thus, funds for the child's treatment are no longer needed.
So, due to the inability to spend all the transferred funds for the project, the remaining funds in the amount of UAH 33,503.99 (thirty-three thousand five hundred three hryvnias, 99 kopecks) were returned to the account of the Ukrainian Charity Exchange on October 2, 2025 and asked to dispose of them in accordance with the Rules, Principles and Procedures of the Ukrainian Charity Exchange.

Currently, all funds transferred from the Ukrainian Charity Exchange have been spent on the needs of the child.

We sincerely thank the donors and partners of dobro.ua for their help and support!
