Daryna is almost 13 years old, and she has spent five of those years battling a serious illness – type 1 diabetes. She is a creative girl who studies hard at school, has received awards for her academic achievements and participation in competitions, and has many friends and a younger sister.
Her health is constantly changing due to fluctuations in her blood sugar levels. This is especially noticeable during her favorite extracurricular activities: playing the guitar, cooking, and enjoying music. Due to the unpredictability of her health, Daryna stays at home. She is kept company by her pets – a cat and a parrot, whom she considers her true friends.
Her mother works as a saleswoman in a store and takes care of all matters related to her daughter's treatment. The war has had a negative impact on both their emotional state and financial security. Due to severe anxiety, Daryna's blood sugar levels can fluctuate dramatically. That is why sensors for continuous glucose monitoring are vital for her – they help her avoid dangerous situations and prevent complications. However, her mother cannot afford them on her own. Please help Daryna!
