The difficulties in Roman's life began even before his expected date of birth: the boy was born at 8 months, weighing less than two and a half kilograms, and was very weak. He spent his entire first month in a hospital ward, where he learned to eat and gained weight. But the happiness did not last long: at six months, he fell seriously ill. He was diagnosed with hydrocephalus, a brain disease characterized by an excessive accumulation of cerebrospinal fluid in the skull cavity. The fluid was drained from the baby several times, but everything turned out fine.
Five years ago, trouble struck again. Roman was diagnosed with type I diabetes. Now the boy is 11 years old, and he is a real champ: he measures his own sugar levels and gives himself injections. Frequent punctures are very traumatic for a child's fingers, so to relieve him of the pain and anxiety of constant blood sugar monitoring, Roma needs continuous glucose monitoring sensors. Unfortunately, along with the great need comes a high price. His mother, who is raising two young children on her own, cannot cope with all the costs of Roman's treatment on her own. Become their support in this struggle!
