14-year-old Arina has been battling type 1 diabetes for a year and a half. Since receiving the diagnosis, her life has been completely turned upside down: after going through a difficult period of rehabilitation, the girl had to go through something much more painful – the realization that this diagnosis is forever and that she needs to learn to live with it.
For their small family, it was completely new: there was a lot that was incomprehensible, they did a lot of things incorrectly at first and got high sugar levels. To avoid terrible complications, constant monitoring of sugar levels is necessary: before meals, at the peak of insulin activity and after it has worked out – this means at least nine glucometer punctures a day and two more at night. It is very exhausting, it is painful, and in addition to them, insulin injections are also necessary, because Arina’s body is dependent on them.
The slightest errors or carelessness in calculating the amount of food eaten and the required dose of medication turn into dangerous sugar levels for the girl, and each jump deals a heavy blow to her body. Therefore, she desperately needs sensors for continuous sugar level monitoring. The family used them before, and during that time they have become indispensable lifesavers. However, unfortunately, for a family where the mother raises her daughter alone, they are out of reach. Help Arina in her difficult fight!
