Zlata has had type 1 diabetes since she was 2 years old. She was admitted to intensive care in serious condition with blood sugar levels several times higher than the maximum limit. Zlata spent more than a month in medical facilities and underwent three resuscitations. After returning home from the hospital, Zlata's family was left alone with all the difficulties of treating diabetes. For the sake of her daughter, her mother began to study literature, search for information on social networks, and seek answers to questions from mothers whose children have the same diagnosis.
Zlata is very active, really very active. Kind and open, she is a real fighter. The girl attends various clubs, dances, and this year is preparing for school. She is sociable, loves to communicate and play with children. But her life cannot be called easy. Every day, she has to endure at least five insulin injections, monitor her blood sugar, and resist the urge to eat something without insulin.
Many say that type 1 diabetes is not a disease but a lifestyle. Zlata's mother agrees – this is only possible when people with diabetes have access to all the necessary medical devices, including glucose monitoring sensors. Not every family can afford these devices because they are very expensive. Unfortunately, for ordinary people, sensors are a luxury, and for their children, diabetes remains a serious disease.
Zlata currently uses sensors. With their help, the child can lead an active lifestyle and better control her sugar levels, but they have a limited shelf life, so the family is asking for help in purchasing sensors for their daughter.
