Vladyslav has autism and severe epilepsy. Until he was one and a half years old, it seemed that the baby was developing normally, even starting to say his first words. Then the attacks became more frequent, completely altering the family’s life: both mom and son spend most of their time in hospitals. Vladyslav has stopped speaking entirely, and each new seizure further deteriorates his condition.

Neurosurgeons at Kyiv’s Ohmatdyt perform successful surgical treatments for epilepsy. Thanks to advanced equipment, these procedures are non-traumatic and don’t lead to severe complications. Epileptic episodes in children are almost eliminated. Treatment is free for patients, but the hospital currently lacks specific electrodes.

Consistent treatment, rehabilitation, sessions with speech therapists, and psychologists—all of these are paid by the family. Gathering nearly 100,000 UAH for the electrodes is nearly impossible. Without them, the surgery cannot take place. At home, Vladyslav’s older brother deeply misses his mother and brother. Every year on St. Nicholas Day, Maksym has one wish: "I wish for my brother Vladik to get well!".

Let’s join in and help St. Nicholas!
