Arina was born at 38 weeks of her mother's pregnancy. She developed and grew up relatively healthy and active, but severe pneumonia at the age of three led to complications with her pancreas, an allergic reaction to all pollen plants, and constant acetonemic syndrome. Hospitals and IV drips became an integral part of the family's life.
And when Arina was 11, doctors diagnosed her with type 1 diabetes (insulin-dependent), which came as a shock to the whole family. For two days, her mother did not leave the door of the intensive care unit. The only things that saved her were round-the-clock IVs and hope for the best. Eventually, the girl's condition stabilized, and Arina gradually began to adapt to her new way of life. Constant blood sugar measurements and insulin injections, diet and restrictions are a challenge for a child.
But she does not give up and bravely accepts it every day. Arina tries to live a full life, just like her peers: she studies diligently in eighth grade, dances, and has many friends. For the second year in a row, she and her mother have been going to Truskavets for rehabilitation, where procedures and healing water slightly improve her condition.
It is very important for Arina to follow her diet and monitor her blood sugar levels. This requires round-the-clock sugar monitoring sensors to track and prevent hypoglycemia – dangerously low blood sugar levels, which in the worst case can lead to coma. But for the family, the price of this life-saving device is simply unaffordable: only the father works in the family, as the mother has a third-degree disability and is immobile after a car accident. The father's salary is not enough to provide the family with everything they need. Help Arini not to lose the bright years of her life to a serious illness!
