Imagine a blank sheet of paper. For a child who has lost their parents or found themselves in difficult life circumstances, that blank page can sometimes feel as vast and frightening as their future. But as soon as they pick up a pencil, it comes to life. Colors appear on the paper – houses, trees, smiling suns. Through drawing, the child learns once again to trust the world.
At our Center for Social and Psychological Rehabilitation of Children, 12 children currently live with us, aged 2 to 17. These are children who, due to life circumstances, have lost parental care. Our mission is not just to give them shelter – it is to help them return to a normal life, at the heart of which are learning and development.
For these children, education is therapy. It is a chance to break free from the past and build a new life. Every day, they go to school, do their homework, draw, sculpt, and work with psychologists, a special education teacher, and social pedagogues.
To achieve good results, we need the simplest of things:
- notebooks, paper, pens, and pencils – to form letters and create;
- paints and brushes – to release emotions that cannot be put into words;
- rulers, erasers, sharpeners, and other small essentials – without which no lesson is possible;
And other school supplies, so that our children can sit confidently in the classroom, having everything that other children have.
We are reaching out to you for help. Your support will allow us to provide school supplies for 12 children, as well as fund the work of the special education teacher who works with them.
These children are going through a hard time – but they are not alone. Please help our young students.
