Strength for a Little Dreamer

      Due to the stress experienced by his mother, Viktoria, Andriy was born at 35 weeks’ gestation with signs of hypoxia. His discharge summary stated: hypoxic-ischaemic damage to the central nervous system. At eighteen months, the boy stopped speaking and making eye contact, began flapping his arms like wings, and became a fussy eater. Three years later, he was diagnosed with childhood autism.
      In accordance with Cooperation Agreement No. 21 between the Charitable Organisation International Charitable Foundation ‘Ukrainian Charity Exchange’ and the Charitable Aid Operator Charitable Foundation ‘POMAGAYEM’ dated 31 August 2020, and Supplementary Agreement No. 21. 336 of 17 September 2025, the project ‘Strength for a Little Dreamer’ was posted on the website of the Charitable Organisation International Charitable Foundation ‘UBB’ – dobro.ua – with the aim of raising donations to cover the cost of Andrii Kovalchuk’s treatment.
During the fundraising campaign, it became necessary to use part of the funds raised on the website of the Charitable Organisation International Charitable Foundation “Ukrainian Charity Exchange” – dobro.ua – to purchase medicines and special dietary products for the boy.
      Therefore, in accordance with letters No. 502 dated 29 September 2025, No. 572 dated 4 November 2025 and No. 75 dated 19 February 2026, we received the collected sum of 5,680.00 UAH (five thousand six hundred and eighty hryvnias, 00 kopecks), 5,000.00 UAH (five thousand hryvnias, 00 kopecks) and 3,523.00 UAH (three thousand five hundred and twenty-three hryvnias, 00 kopecks) into the Fund’s account and continued the fundraising campaign on the dobro.ua platform.
      In 2025, we supported the boy with special food and medicines totalling 10,680.00 UAH (ten thousand six hundred and eighty hryvnias, 00 kopecks).

      This year, we have also been providing ongoing support to Andriy. In February, we purchased and delivered a supply of Nutricia Nutridrink Compact special formula for him, totalling 3,420.20 UAH (three thousand four hundred and twenty hryvnias and 20 kopecks), and in March we provided him with medicines worth 102.80 UAH (one hundred and two hryvnias, 80 kopecks). 
      Andriy is not currently attending school, as he has recently suffered from viral infections three times in a row. His mother consulted an endocrinologist, and the boy’s condition is now gradually improving. In addition, they consulted a psychiatrist, who recommended a further consultation with a geneticist. This appointment is already scheduled for next week. On Saturday, the family plans to have an ultrasound scan and take blood tests to pass them on to a gastroenterologist for further examination.
      Since his illness, lessons have not been taking place as frequently, but they are gradually trying to return to their usual routine. Andriy spends a lot of time outdoors, where he really enjoys using exercise equipment. He still dreams of taking up sport seriously. At home, the boy works enthusiastically on his tablet, creating beautiful drawings. And in the mornings, until 12 o’clock, he joins online lessons.
Currently, all funds transferred from the Ukrainian Charity Exchange have been spent on the boy’s needs.
