An orphan against a terrible diagnosis!

The story of Vanya is the story of a child with Down syndrome, who was not needed by his own mother. Vanya's only guardian, grandmother died in 2019, and then a new problem came to Vanya – leukemia. But despite everything, the boy is fighting, and many other people are fighting for him: doctors and volunteers. Let's help fight off Vanya from the disease!

When Vanya was transferred to the CSTO, it was not easy to restore his history from documents. 7 years ago, my mother did not take the baby from the hospital: he was diagnosed with Down syndrome. Vanin's father went to prison for a long time. The kid was taken into the care of his grandmother.

No one knows exactly how Vanya lived until May 2019, and in May her grandmother died. Vanyusha was supposed to be sent to the Druzhkovsky orphanage, but instead he ended up in the hospital. From May to December 2019, the boy was first in the Selidovskaya, then in the Slavic hospital. And in December he was sent from Slavyansk to Dnipro with suspicion of hematological disease. In the Dnieper, Vanya was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia. 

The treatment is very difficult. Vanya was prescribed high-dose chemotherapy - it has severe side effects, after each block the blood counts drop to zero, his liver suffers, Vanya suffers from a fungal infection affecting the mucous membranes. Doctors are trying to find that narrow path between the toxic effects of "chemistry" and an inexorable disease that will allow Vanya to survive and recover. Before starting the new protocol, we had to take a long break, and this is also a risk: this allows leukemia to attack again.

Last week Vanya passed the first block of "chemistry" from the new protocol. Blood counts immediately "dropped", I had to drip Mikamin from a fungal infection, inject Albumin and Athenative. For several days Vanyusha refused to eat and now weighs 15 kg. On the weekend, they were already going to administer intravenous nutrition, but the baby felt a little better and began to eat.

Vanya has two huge expense items. The first is accompanying drugs to support the gastrointestinal tract and blood counts, antibiotics, hepatoprotectors. The second - 15,000 UAH per month goes to pay for the services of nurses. The condition of a child with such a disease must be constantly monitored: monitor health, nutrition, etc. And of course, you need to play and communicate with the seven-year-old Vanyusha. Therefore, volunteers pay for nurses for Vanya. And we are opening a new charitable collecting money for medicines for the baby. The most expensive is the Athenative. Each bottle costs UAH 6,000. It should be administered with a low antithrombin, Vanyusha is sometimes prescribed it up to 5 times a week. In addition to him, Creon, Biseptol, Eutirox, Nifuroxazide, Heptral, Hepa-Merz and many others are needed. Let's give Vanyusha every possible chance to defeat the disease!
