In June 2019, Sofia Galdetska's mother noticed that her daughter's gums were swelling. Everything remembered the banal flux. The visit to the doctor of central dentistry ended with a micro-operation – the girl's gum was cut. However, this did not help. The child is sent to Pokrovsk. A biopsy was taken from Sofia, and with the results she is being redirected to Kiev. And already the Kiev doctors have established the final, not at all simple oncological diagnosis – embryonic rhabdomyosarcoma of the soft tissues of the right jaw. This is a very aggressive and dangerous tumor. Doctors prescribed Sophia enhanced treatment – the introduction of a cytostatic agent, weekly infusion and oral tablets every day. The child was sent to Kharkov for chemotherapy.

Since then, Sofia has already undergone 9 courses of chemistry therapy, then courses of radiation therapy, and after six months of maintenance chemistry. The main treatment was completed in June 2021. The results were impressive and Sofia was one step away from remission. Alas, the subsequent MRI and CT scan showed a new tumor formation. The girl was diagnosed with a relapse of the disease. And since October, Sofia was prescribed a new treatment protocol, which she has been undergoing since October.

Sofia adequately accepts the circumstances and the course of treatment, does not panic. She even finds the strength to support the children who entered the oncology department and inspire those who fall into blues and despair. Only now she really misses her brothers and sisters. Sofia has five sisters and two brothers. This family lives in Toretsk, not far from the hostilities. The money for Sofia's treatment is sorely lacking, and now the girl needs to buy the Uromitexan medication in the amount of UAH 15,120. They cannot cope with such costs and long-term treatment on their own. Therefore, the girl's mother asks for help in purchasing the necessary medicines for Sofia.
