For two years now, Sofia, a cheerful and creative girl, has been fighting a fierce battle with diabetes. Today, in addition to regular insulin injections, Sofia has to prick her fingers more than 20 times a day to check her blood sugar levels. Unfortunately, Sofia's blood sugar levels fluctuate quite often. Due to poor control, the girl feels unwell and cannot attend school.
Such conditions not only cause severe pain, especially in the legs and head, but are also very harmful to the child's body. Continuous glucose monitoring sensors could make life easier for the girl and her mother, but the cost of purchasing them falls on their shoulders. However, for a family of internally displaced persons, where the mother with a third degree of disability is raising her daughter alone, this is an unaffordable expense. Sofiika needs constant supervision, they have no relatives, and her mother is forced to be with her daughter all the time. The family does not have the money for the sensors, so the mother is asking for help.
