Ania Starovoit is only 5 years old. Ania was diagnosed a tumor of the brain stem last year. Now she is undergoing chemotherapy. To interrupt the treatment is extremely pointless and dangerous. But her family has no money to buy expensive medications. The girl wants to be healthy because of her parents to be happy. Let's help Anya to overcome her disease and to become a healthy girl!
In July 2013 Anya’s parents noticed that their child had problems with nasal breathing, and her eye began to squint. Parents led the girl to numerous hospitals. Doctors treated her intestines, heart, and nervous system. Nobody could establish correct diagnosis. In August 2013 the girl's condition deteriorated sharply, began to feel dizzy. Ania heaelth condition became worse and unbearable headaches deprived her of sleep. In September the doctors sent the girl on the MRI of the brain and the tumor was discovered.
Parents appealed to the Romadanov institute in Kyiv. Doctors refused to operate the girl, the tumor was inoperable. Radiotherapy in Cancer Institute was appointed, but the girl was sent home to be treated in Mykolaiv. Ania’s parents are faced with a problem again, because there is no beam accelerator in Mykolaiv and there is no possibility to treat the child. Doctors didn't want to take responsibility for the further future of the girl. Starovoit's family addressed to hospitals in Rivne, Dnipropetrovsk and Kharkiv but they were denied. The required funds for the treatment abroad was too high, it is unrealistic to collect them in the short-term period.
Ania is needed treatment here and now, it's impossible to lose any more time. Then the parents went the other way and went to the oncologist-herbalist in Zaporizhzhia, who prescribed the girl alkaloids and many other medications. After three months of such treatment Ania became feeling better. Her parents thought that a miracle has happened. But in December Ania’s health condition got worse. She stopped eating, went reeling, her speech was incoherent. They did another MRI and found that the tumor has grown considerably. When Ania was assigned to Mykolaiv hospital she couldn't walk. Child’s father again started to search for the clinic where the child will undergo radiotherapy.
The hospital in Rivne agreed to treat the girl. January 27 the girl was put in the hospital and began the difficult and long treatment. At that time Ania couldn't walk, sit, eat alone, and couldn't speak but scream. Just in March improvement appeared. The girl began to walk, sit and talk. After completion of radiotherapy doctors appointed the 6 courses of treatment by drug "Temodal". Ania passed the third course of chemotherapy. The next course should begin this month.
To continue treatment the baby needs drug "Temodal" (3 packages x 100 mg with price 5 100 UAH and 3 packages x 20 mg with price 1 237 UAH per package). Total price of medicines is 19 012 UAH. Such amount of money the family doesn't have but treatment should continue and family appeals for help to people.
