Saving sight for Dmytryk
Four-year-old Dmytro Kuryat is a very cheerful and positive boy. From birth, he was a very calm and inquisitive child. After two years, it became noticeable that the child was looking too closely at toys and other objects. When the boy was 2 years and 4 months old, a full-scale invasion of our land by the occupiers began, which did not allow Dmytro to be examined and receive all the necessary treatment.
After a year of being under occupation and successfully leaving for the government-controlled territory of Ukraine, the family was forced to look for housing, as their house was destroyed. After resolving the issues with housing and documents, the mother and her son managed to see an ophthalmologist. The doctor was unable to diagnose the disease at the place of residence due to the complexity of the disease and sent the boy to the regional center in Cherkasy. After the visit to the regional hospital, the specialists recommended that Dmytro go to the OKHMATDYT Children's Clinic in Kyiv for a full examination and to determine the further treatment strategy.
And finally, after the examinations by the specialists of the OKHMATDYT clinic, Dmytro got a hope to see better and live a full life! To do this, Dmytro needs to undergo a lens replacement and fixation surgery. The operation requires considerable funds and financial expenses. Dmytro's family are internally displaced persons. The boy's father has a group I visual disability, and his mother has no regular income and works irregularly. With hope, they ask us to help Dmytro see the world!
