Special nutrition for Roma – price of life

Unfortunately, sometimes children's destinies go in such way that neither the parents care nor doctors vigilance cannot prevent troubles in their lives. So, small Roma Meshko for 4.5 years has been living with terrible birth defects, and no tests could not determine this until the baby was lying in serious condition on the operating table. And now for the boy it is necessary to get expensive special food. The boy was removed almost the entire small intestine of about 2 m, for vital activity for the child was left only 12 cm.

It has started almost from the first months after his birth: constant abdominal pain, bloating, poor stool, vomiting, constipation, lack of appetite. Parents endlessly were staying with the baby in the hospital, where he was put a variety of diagnoses: dysbacteriosis, various enteric viruses, Giardia ... After each treatment the alleged disease symptoms retreated briefly, and then started all over again. For a few years Roma was registered at the gastroenterologist in a children's regional hospital, and there he regularly held consultations. But no one was able to determine that the child has congenital malformation - a common mesentery large and small intestines and intestinal torsion.

Just with the body growth there was created a situation where one of these torsion passing vessels feeding the small intestine, leading to its death and, of course, significant and sharp deterioration of health state of the child. Little Roma in serious condition appeared in the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast Children's Hospital, where he immediately underwent surgery. The boy was removed almost the entire small intestine of about 2 m, for vital activity for the child was left only 12 cm.

Thanks to God and to the coordinated work of the doctors Roma's life was saved . But now there is an urgent need to get nutrition - during all the postoperative period, which lasts half a year, a child needs to receive special food. Assigning his mixture of "Oliklinomel" per month will cost more than 9 000 UAH. For a simple family from a small town, this amount is just too much! And we can only hope that good people can will help.
