Eleven-year-old Maksym had always been an active, cheerful, and joyful boy. But with the start of the full-scale invasion, his family was forced to live through the occupation of their home village. For the child, this became a severe psychological ordeal and a source of intense stress. Maksym developed many fears, began sleeping poorly, and his behavior changed noticeably – the boy became lethargic and less active.

After the deoccupation, the family tried to return to ordinary life. But shortly after, Maksym went through another difficult event – his father, a soldier, was seriously wounded. The boy was deeply worried about his father's health and life, which became yet another intense emotional shock for him.

A few months later, his mother noticed that Maksym was constantly feeling tired, wanting to sleep, and frequently complaining of feeling unwell. Without delay, she called an ambulance. After examination at hospital, the family learned that Maksym had been diagnosed with type 1 diabetes.

Thanks to the treatment that was started, the boy's condition improved, but the disease requires continuous monitoring and long-term therapy. Later, Maksym's vision began to deteriorate, and an obsessive movement disorder also appeared. Doctors prescribed him a special diet appropriate for his age and ongoing replacement insulin therapy.

Today Maksym is forced to strictly adhere to a dietary regimen and regularly monitor his blood sugar levels. He needs continuous treatment, insulin, and medical supervision.

Maksym's mother raises her son on her own and is unable to cover all the costs associated with his treatment and necessary medical supplies – including continuous monitoring sensors – on her own.

That is why the family is reaching out to all caring people with a request for help. Any support will make a real difference for Maksym and will help him receive the treatment he needs and live a full life.
