Create a special place in the hospital!

The project "Create a special place in the hospital!" is aimed at creating a functional and comfortable environment for patients and their families in the reception department of the Lviv Regional Council's KNP "Western Ukrainian Specialized Children's Medical Center" (ZUSDMC) (hereinafter referred to as the "Clinical Center of Pediatric Medicine").

The reception department of ZUSDMC serves about 600 patients admitted for inpatient treatment and about 500 people who receive outpatient consultations every month. The main idea of ​​the project was to create an environment that minimizes stress and fear of young patients who are faced with unknown medical procedures, providing them and their families with comfortable conditions.

We wanted a visit to the hospital not to be associated with fear and inconvenience, but to become the first step towards recovery in an atmosphere of care and professionalism.

The project implementation included several key tasks:

Reconstruction of the entrance, which allowed for unhindered access for patients with limited mobility, in particular those who use wheelchairs or walkers, or require support from life support equipment.
Arrangement of premises for receiving patients, such as areas for anthropometry, sanitation, and medical documentation.
Creation of a rest room for medical staff and modern bathrooms, which contributes to improving the working conditions of doctors.
