Saint Nicholas for children affected by war

Childhood is meant to be about dreams, joy, and a sense of safety. But the war has taken this simplicity away from thousands of Ukrainian children. Some have lost their parents, others – their homes, and some have learned to recognize the sounds of explosions instead of lullabies.
Yet even in such circumstances, they keep dreaming – of warmth, of a toy, of a celebration, of St. Nicholas not forgetting to visit them this year.

That’s why the Caritas Berdychiv UGCC Charitable Foundation is launching the initiative "Saint Nicholas for children affected by war" – to bring back to children the feeling of goodness, love, and care.

Project goal – to purchase gifts for children – a total of 50,000 UAH is needed. We are raising part of this amount through the dobro.ua platform.

How does the project work?
• We prepare an individual gift for each child.
• Volunteers, parishioners, and benefactors unite their efforts to collect and pack the gifts.
• In December, a series of festive events will take place, where children will receive their presents from St. Nicholas, along with warm words and support.

Who do we help?
• Children affected by the war: internally displaced children, orphans, children of military personnel, and children from families in difficult life circumstances.
• Little ones who need not only material help, but also the faith that they are remembered and loved.

Expected results:
• Over 100 children will receive personalized St. Nicholas gifts.
• At least 200 benefactors will join in creating this miracle.
• Children will feel the love and care of the community and regain their faith in goodness and their own worth.
