Saint Nicholas for children affected by war

The project “Saint Nicholas for Children Affected by War” was aimed at restoring a sense of kindness, love, and care to children who had suffered the consequences of war. We wanted to give them a holiday, support, and faith that there are people nearby who remember and are ready to help.
The project “Saint Nicholas for Children Affected by War” was posted on the platform of the charitable organization UBB dobro.ua in October 2025 to raise part of the funds. The fundraising campaign ended in November 2025 with a total of UAH 20,000.00. The total budget for all gifts was 75,000 hryvnia, with the rest of the funds coming from other sources. Thanks to the funds raised, we were able to prepare gifts for 150 children. We purchased 120 warm blankets, 150 sweet gifts, and 8 gifts for babies. Fifty-nine warm blankets were purchased with the funds raised on the dobro.ua platform. From December 5 to 9, St. Nicholas Day workshops were organized, attended by 150 children and their parents, who received gifts along with warm words of support. Sweets and blankets were purchased as gifts.

The project covered children affected by the war: internally displaced children; children of deceased and missing servicemen; children with disabilities. We supported children who need not only material assistance, but also a sense of security, love, and the knowledge that they are remembered.
More than 150 benefactors, volunteers, and parishioners joined the initiative.
The project became an example of the power of joint action and sacrificial love. Thanks to everyone who joined, we were able to give the children a little joy and remind them that good triumphs even in the darkest times.
