At the age of 9, Eldar knows exactly when he needs to check his blood sugar. His days are spent going from one insulin injection to the next, living under strict restrictions and in constant fear of glucose spikes that could lead to a coma.
In accordance with Cooperation Agreement No. 21 between the Charitable       Organisation International Charitable Foundation ‘Ukrainian Charity Exchange’ and the Charitable Aid Operator Charitable Foundation ‘Pomagayem’ dated 31 August 2020, and Supplementary Agreement No. 21. On 21 January 2026, the ‘Freedom from Injections’ project was launched on the website dobro.ua with the aim of raising charitable donations to cover the cost of Eldar Rubel’s treatment.
During the fundraising campaign, it became necessary to use part of the funds raised on the website of the Charitable Organisation International Charitable Foundation “Ukrainian Charity Exchange” – dobro.ua – to purchase some of the beds for the boy. Therefore, in accordance with letters No. 64 dated 5 February 2026 and No. 162 dated 24 April 2026, we received the raised amounts of 11,425.00 UAH (eleven thousand four hundred and twenty-five hryvnias, 00 kopecks) and 17,407.00 UAH (seventeen thousand four hundred and seven hryvnias, 00 kopecks) into the Fund’s account and continued the fundraising on the dobro.ua platform.
In February of this year, we purchased Omnipod Dash pods for Eldar to the value of 11,425.00 UAH (eleven thousand four hundred and twenty-five hryvnias, 00 kopecks), and in April – for a total of 17,407.00 UAH (seventeen thousand four hundred and seven hryvnias, 00 kopecks).
Eldar is eagerly awaiting the summer holidays. School will be finishing very soon, and he will be able to spend more time outdoors. He dreams of cycling, going for walks with friends and enjoying every day without worrying about school bells.
Modern technology helps Eldar feel more confident. Thanks to the Omnipod Dash wireless insulin pump, he doesn’t have to worry about eating on time or adjusting his blood sugar levels. This gives him the freedom and opportunity to lead an active and fulfilling life, just like any other child.
His mum is sincerely grateful to everyone who has supported her son during this difficult time.
Currently, all funds transferred from the Ukrainian Charity Exchange have been spent on the boy’s needs, and the project is still raising funds.
We sincerely thank the donors and partners at dobro.ua for their help, and the UCE team for their long-standing cooperation!
