Dancing with life!

There is a famous movie "Dancer in the Dark", and the girl Ira is dancing in the dark, in the dark created by her disease. Ira is engaged into professional dancing from the age of 4, she is a leading dancer in her team of choreographic miniatures. Ira worked very hard to achieve everything, she won the place in the national team… But the disease affected the most important thing for every dancer – her leg. Can really this terrible and ugly disease destroy all the dreams of this delicate girl?

Wouldn't she be able to come out of the dark, to stand in the spotlight and to hear the winner's fanfare? Wouldn’t be able her parents to see their daughters most important dance – bride's dance? Yes, she would overcome the disease! She would win if we support her!

Ira fell ill in spring 2014. She got injured during one of the training sessions. The mother brought her to the first-aid station. There an X-ray examination was performed and warming ointments were prescribed. Still her condition worsened and the pain increased. The parents brought their daughter to the Regional Hospital in Odesa. One more X-ray exam was taken and the surgeon immediately noticed the pathology in the leg. The girl was sent to the Institute of Cancer. There a correct diagnosis was made: osteosarcoma. A long and exhausting treatment started. After completing 6 cycles of pre-operative treatment Ira is preparing for an operation aimed at endoprosthesis insertion.

Her parents are ordinary workers: the mother is a laboratory assistant, and the father is a security guard. It’s hard for them to pay all the bills. The family didn’t ask for help saying that probably the others had a worse situation than they have. They tried to cope on their own but the invoice for more than 11 000 UAH was shocking for them. The girl's mother and her father ask to help save their daughter!
