Summer camp for evacuated children during the war

War came to peaceful Ukrainian land. Children continue to be killed and wounded, and the harsh reality around leaves young boys and girls deeply traumatized for life. The war separated hundreds of thousands of children from their parents. So far we can only imagine the terrible consequences of the war, but in fact they will be felt by at least the next few generations.

Particularly depressed emotional state is now felt in the children removed from the families we care for. First they left their homes and tried to adapt to life in our Center for Social and Psychological Rehabilitation in Kyiv, then to life in bomb shelters, then to evacuation and completely new conditions in the Zakarpattia region, to online lessons for students.

Time passes quickly. The school year is over, summer has come. War-weary children need rest and rehabilitation to gain the skills to deal with psychological trauma that has emerged as a wound and needs to be treated. For 20 such children we want to organize a summer camp that will work in the Zakarpattia region. The camp program will include a useful daily routine with consistent rest and rehabilitation, exercise, training and environmental routes.

The camp will be staffed by professionals: social educators will be with the children, and a seamstress, an English teacher and a psychologist will meet online. Most importantly, these are the professionals that children already trust for their dedication, creativity, emotional stability, care and love. We do not have the funding to administer and provide leisure time for the children in the camp, namely a seamstress, an English teacher and a psychologist.

Help children to strengthen in the summer, instill in them faith in their abilities, give inspiration and start to development.

The camp will run for one month.
