The project continues to be implemented.

As of the end of May 2025, 22 children had completed the training: 12 of them studied between October 2023 and May 2024, and another 10 from the beginning of 2025 to the present. Of the ten children who started training in 2025, six have already completed the full course. Three stopped studying for personal reasons without completing the full course, so two new children were included instead. The remaining place will be given to a new participant in the near future. The children studied Python, Frontend PRO, Gamedev, Digital Design, Minecraft, Roblox, digital graphics, and drawing. The participants' ages range from 9 to 16 years old. The program covers nine regions of Ukraine, as well as families living abroad. Eight children have IDP status, and five live in frontline territories.
Success story of one of the program participants: Andriy, 10 years old
After the start of the full-scale war, Andriy and his mother were forced to leave their hometown of Dniprorudne in Zaporizhzhia, a city that has been occupied since February 2022. The family lost not only their home but also the most important person in their lives — their father. Andriy's father, Vitaliy, was killed in December 2022 near Chervonopillia in the Luhansk region during a combat mission.
This was a heavy blow for Andriy. Together with his mother, they moved to Pereyaslav, in the Kyiv region, where they started a new life as an internally displaced family. In a strange city, without his father, without his familiar surroundings — but with a deep desire to study again and feel needed.
Since childhood, Andriy had been fascinated by technology and computers. He dreamed of learning how to create games like the ones he played with his friends. But before the war, his family could not afford such courses, and after the war, even less so.
Studying at GoITeens was not just an opportunity for him — it became a lifeline. Andriy immediately immersed himself in programming, actively asked questions, and completed his homework with enthusiasm. He even decided not to interrupt his studies for the summer because he enjoyed it so much.
We were most impressed by his mother's reaction. She wrote: "After everything we've been through, I saw a sparkle in Andriy's eyes for the first time. He has a reason to get up in the morning. Thank you for helping my son dream again."
The Children of Heroes Charitable Foundation sincerely thanks every donor who supported the project on the dobro.ua platform. Your donations have enabled children who have experienced profound personal loss to believe in themselves and take an important step toward a new future.
Thanks to you, these children have not only completed the course — they have found meaning, interest, and support. We are grateful for your trust and support.
