Teona is a complicated girl. Her family would like to rejoice when she is called a “sweet” girl and take this word as a usual term of endearment, but no. This is because Teona has diabetes. The girl fell ill at the age of five. It was winter outside, New Year's Eve. She felt very ill, she was weak, and her parents called an ambulance. On New Year's Eve, Teona did not make any New Year's wishes, did not unwrap any presents — she was lying under IVs in intensive care.
In less than two weeks, the girl was discharged from the hospital, and mother and daughter learned to live together again. The child cried constantly from the constant painful pricks of lancets used to measure sugar with a glucometer and was very afraid of sugar measurements. But then continuous glucose monitoring sensors came to the rescue, becoming indispensable helpers for the family. Thanks to them, Teona was able to go to school. Of course, she still felt terribly awkward when she had to inject insulin - the girl did not want to be different from her peers. Therefore, after six months, the child was fitted with an insulin pump. It seemed that finally, they could breathe a sigh of relief: the sensor measures sugar levels, and the pump regulates insulin delivery. The girl can administer insulin injections herself when necessary and can control her sugar levels through the sensor. Now she is almost like everyone else; she can go to school and attend clubs more freely.
Thanks to the pump and sensors, Teona has a chance to be like other children. But the pump requires consumables, and sensors are also needed to measure blood sugar, and they cost a lot of money. Only the father works in the family. All these diabetes supplies require considerable financial investment, so the family is turning to you for help for their little daughter Teona: please help us purchase the sensors!
