Urgent surgery for little Tymofiy

This little tiny boy yesterday was in his mom’s arms. He groaned, nozzled, whimpered but still he was with his mom… Today little Tymofiy was taken to the intensive care. His condition deteriorated. Soon he will need a surgery. In such situations the doctors say: time is our enemy. But the family cannot afford to buy everything required for an urgent surgery, that’s why they ask for help.

The whole family was waiting for little Tymofiy’s birth. His pregnant mother regularly visited doctors and underwent all the required examinations. During one of them she got a shocking diagnosis: fetal pathology. A lot of tests were performed and a brain tumor in the fetus was detected. At that very moment the parents began to prepare for future surgeries, began to collect money to pay medical bills.

When little Tymofiy was born he had to grow up for a surgery. However, after a few days the doctors detected progressive hydrocephalus. The tumor blocked the normal circulation of CSF leading to increased intracranial pressure. The local doctors tried to fix the problem with different medical therapies. Time passed and the family spent a lot of money on essential medicines. Unfortunately, their treatment has not produced the desired effect. The boy was sent to Kyiv.

Tymofiy arrived to the Institute of Neurosurgery in a grave condition. At first a special CSF shunt system has to be installed urgently and only then a surgery to remove the tumor can be scheduled. The parents are in despair because almost all the money they had was used for previous treatment. They ask for help because they cannot cope on their own.
