The disease came to Tymofii unexpectedly when he was less than two years old. At first, the parents noticed that the baby was constantly thirsty, tired quickly, lost his appetite, and his weight began to decline. Blood tests confirmed the worst fears – his sugar level was critically high. Since then, the family's life has changed forever.
Every day, the baby had to go through numerous blood glucose measurements, insulin injections and strict dietary adherence. As Tymofii grew up, he began to realize that his life was significantly different from that of other children. He could not eat sweets uncontrollably, always carried a special device for measuring sugar, pierced his fingers 10 times a day, and had to receive insulin before every meal. However, this did not stop him from dreaming, studying and making friends, playing sports, and going to the pool.
Tymofii's diagnosis carries certain risks. Constant fluctuations in sugar levels can cause fatigue, dizziness, and in the future – complications with the kidneys, vision, and cardiovascular system. But his parents have done and are doing their best to teach him how to take care of himself. Due to the war, the family moved to Uzhhorod. They live in a rented apartment, and they don't have enough money for all the necessary treatment. Sensors for measuring sugar levels have become too expensive for the family's budget. Tymofii's mother asks for help in purchasing them.
