This is a struggle for the ability to breathe

It is difficult to realize that for someone it can be hard to do an easy thing – to breathe. Our wards-children and adults with serious illnesses must fight for a simple opportunity to live and breathe! Creating a tracheostomy – a special hole in the neck with a specific tube – gave them a chance. They would have already suffocated without it. However, in order for this seemingly natural process – respiration – not to add to the suffering, they need regular manipulations to maintain the tracheostomy and special devices – heat and moisture exchange filters.

The main function of heat exchanger filters is high-quality filtration of inhaled air and artificial heating and humidification. "Artificial nose" protects the mucous membrane from irritation with dry air and is a barrier to infections. These devices can improve the quality of life for the people having serious illnesses. When used, coughing and sputum production are reduced, patients sleep better and become more protected from respiratory diseases. However, only a few people unfortunately have the opportunity to purchase such important things. Most families with children and adults who have serious illnesses live very modestly due to the constant costs of treatment, care products, and special food. A full-scale war has made these families even more vulnerable, even when they live in areas where there is no direct fighting.

Now we are asking for help in purchasing 300 tracheostomy filters for seriously ill children and adults. This allegedly large figure is actually small. Our wards will be provided with filters only for one month. But this month all of them will breathe without problem.
