Yaroslav has a severe type of diabetes
For a year now, five-year-old Yaroslav from Zaporizhzhia has been living with an illness that, unfortunately, will not go away. A year ago, his parents began to notice irritability and mood swings. The boy drank a lot and often, and refused to eat. When a blood sugar test was taken as prescribed by doctors, the life of Yaroslav's mother and father changed completely. Hospital, intensive care, tests, and the worst thing of all – the boy was diagnosed with insulin-dependent diabetes. All days became the same. A crying mother and child. All the time they had to measure the sugar level, prick his little fingers and give him injections.
After about a week, Yaroslav was discharged, and the boy and his mother began to get used to living in a new way. It's really not easy. You have to constantly monitor your sugar levels, count your food correctly, adjust your insulin doses, and stay awake at night, because you also need to measure your sugar three times a night.
A year passed, and the family began to understand this new "way of life." Indeed, they can live with it. In today's world, new devices make it much easier to monitor sugar levels. Yaroslav constantly uses continuous blood sugar monitoring. The sensor transmits blood readings to his phone. Thus, sugar is constantly under control, and the baby's fingers do not need to be pricked all the time! But these sensors are too expensive, and the mother cannot afford to buy them all the time. She is asking for help because Yaroslav really needs these sensors.
