Six-year-old Yaroslav is a cheerful, active and inquisitive boy. Like other children of his age, he is anxiously preparing for school. But, in addition to these usual and somewhat exciting chores, he has to worry about something much more frightening – for two years now, the boy has been living with a diagnosis of type I diabetes, which has turned his life upside down.
Blood sugar control has become a constant concern for the family. Yaroslav's small fingers have to endure painful punctures every day to measure glucose. These constant fluctuations in sugar are very difficult to predict and affect the child's mood, well-being and activity. The boy and his family are constantly living in tension, fearing hypoglycemia at night or a sudden sugar spike during the day.
Now there is another important event in his life – Yaroslav has started attending preparatory courses for school. This is a big step in his life, but unfortunately, excitement and new emotions have a great impact on his blood sugar. It becomes completely unpredictable, which makes him take measurements even more often to avoid critical situations. Sugar spikes fluctuate to critical levels and are very difficult to bring down because emotions come into play.
In September, Yaroslav will start first grade. The boy has the right and boundless desire to study with all children, to feel comfortable and safe. But without constant glucose monitoring, this will be almost impossible.
There is a device that could help the child's dream come true – a sensor for continuous blood sugar monitoring. It allows you to see changes in glucose in real time, respond to fluctuations in time and prevent dangerous conditions. For the boy, it is not just a device - it is an opportunity to lead a full life, to study and develop without constant fear of uncontrolled sugar. Help Yaroslav not to lose the miracle of a normal childhood!
