My muscles are dying
Maxim's life began like all boys his age. But then the cheerful and happy child began to lose weight and at the age of 6 he was diagnosed with Duchenne muscular dystrophy. This disease affects 1 in 3,500 boys. Gradually, Maxim loses muscle, first the child stops running, then moves independently. But even in a wheelchair, life goes on. He goes to school, enjoys history, plays with his brother, dreams and does not lose optimism. There is almost always a smile on his face, and he is very eager to help the same boys, to be useful.
Maxim is interested in history, travel, computer games, loves swimming, loves to draw. Despite the fact that due to the disease the boy lost the ability to run, jump, go to school, and just walk (he moves in a wheelchair), and because of this lost communication with peers… it does not anger the boy, Very good child, always helps everyone than can! And also believes in a bright future…
Unfortunately, the heart and respiratory muscles are also gradually weakening. And in adolescence, children with MDD need respiratory support. This will significantly improve the quality of life of Maxim and extend its duration. The best option is to buy a ventilator, which costs a lot of money. Unfortunately, breathing is not promising to improve, so the need for this device will only increase. Medicines for this disease are currently undergoing clinical trials and Maxim's family is very hopeful that he will have a chance to wait for them. Maxim does exercises, stretching every day, visits the pool, does everything possible as a good warrior. Let's help him win this battle.
