Tetiana is a cheerful, strong woman who always looks for the positive in every situation. She loves sports, but her health does not always allow her to be physically active – Tetiana has type 1 insulin-dependent diabetes. Constant monitoring of blood glucose, enduring injections and wounds that eventually stopped healing due to the endless procedures requires titanic efforts. What's more, ongoing treatment requires considerable funds.
The woman has been battling diabetes for control over her body for about thirty years – she was not even three years old when doctors first gave her this diagnosis. During this time, she has experienced many complications. The disease destroys her blood vessels, which affects her organs: eyes, heart, legs, and kidneys. The hormonal drugs that Tetiana takes to compensate for hyperthyroidism cause severe shortness of breath. Seven years ago, upon waking up in the morning, the woman suddenly discovered that she had completely lost her hearing in her left ear, and no treatment could fix it.
Now God has given Tetiana the opportunity to become a mother for the second time. But with the constant stress of the current situation and the passage of time, her health is only getting worse. She does not feel any fluctuations in glucose levels and cannot determine whether she has hypo- or hyperglycemia. The woman is troubled by constant weakness, fatigue, and shortness of breath. She no longer leaves the house without her glucometer, as she needs to measure her glucose levels constantly. Continuous glucose monitoring sensors could significantly help her and ensure the safety of her future child, but their price is too high for the family.
Tetiana has always been brave because she had no other choice. Let's give her the opportunity to not have to fight her fear every day!
