Alina is 13 years old. She really wants to live long and without fear for her life. So far, diabetes is taking over her, but we can make the girl's life safe by providing Alina with sensors.

Alina and her family were forced to move from Nikopol to Miropol village due to constant shelling. Alia's health deteriorated sharply with the outbreak of a full-scale war: stress causes a rise in glucose to critical level. Alina tries not to show fright from the explosions, she even reassures her parents, but you can't fool the glucometer: it shows 15-21 mmol/l at a rate of up to 7.8 during the day.

Alina was born on time and without complications. And when her daughter was a year old, Viktoria noticed that the consumption of diapers had increased dramatically. Mom was going to take Alia to the doctor, but the day before the baby suddenly lost consciousness. In the Nikopol hospital, they took tests and were horrified: the glucose level was 27 mmol / l. Alia fell into a coma.

An ambulance delivered the child to the intensive care unit of the Regional children's hospital of the Dnipro. They prescribed Aktrapid and Protafan, which Alia took for 11 years. Now these drugs have been replaced by with Apidra and Toujeo.

Alina finished eighth grade. Favorite subjects are biology and chemistry. The girl dreams of becoming a nurse to help people. Before the war, she was engaged in oriental dances, taught English.

The war had a severe impact on psycho-emotional health. There are no sections in the village, friends have scattered all over the world, the Internet connection is bad, so online learning and communication is impossible.

You can live with diabetes for a long time, it is only important to do everything to minimize complications. Alina already has problems with her heart, kidneys, eyesight, and joints against the background of her illness.

In addition, Alina has to prick her fingers 5-7 times a day to control glucose. The wounds do not have time to heal, the skin is rough, so the punctures become more and more painful.

The endocrinologist recommended the use of Freestyle Libre sensors. One sensor works for 14 days. It is installed on the forearm and automatically measures the level of sugar every 5 minutes, displaying the data on the phone screen.

We are launching a charity fundraiser to buy 24 sensors, which will be enough for a year. The family is in a difficult financial situation – only Alia's father has the opportunity to work. Friends, let's save Alina from pain and help stabilize the disease!
