Kiril was never a sickly child. He was born completely healthy and only had a serious illness once, chickenpox. He did well at school and had many friends, among whom his younger sister Zlata always held a special place in his heart.
But Kiril's life was turned upside down when he was fifteen. The boy began to lose weight rapidly, and his concerned mother took him to the hospital. There, they were stunned by a terrible diagnosis: type I diabetes.
No one could believe that this was really happening, especially Kiril himself. After a long stay in the hospital, he returned home and took a long time to get used to his new life. Now the young man feels relatively well, but this fragile balance is maintained only by constant monitoring of his blood sugar levels – Kiril's fingers are pricked up to 15 times a day.
But there is another way – continuous glucose monitoring sensors that help monitor sugar levels without so many finger pricks, thus preventing critical conditions without unnecessary anxiety. Unfortunately, however, the family's financial situation forces them to consider this life-saving device an unattainable luxury. In addition to Kiril, they also have to take care of his younger sister, as well as his grandmother and grandfather. Help the family not to lose hope!
