Hearing impairment prevents Zhenya

Zhenya was born prematurely at 8 months of pregnancy. His mother was in the hospital from the first month of her pregnancy because there was a threat of abortion. But still, at 34 weeks, with a weight of 2 kg 200 g a boy was born. After birth, the child's lungs did not open, and he was in the intensive care unit on artificial ventilation for a long time.

In the first years of his life, Zhenya grew and developed a little out of proportion to his age, he lagged behind in development, but by the age of 5, thanks to treatment, developmental classes with various teachers and a speech therapist, he caught up with his peers. He was often sick, the usual acute respiratory syndrome was very difficult.

At the age of 5, the boy's mother noticed that he turned on the TV very loudly, often questioned when others were talking. When an examination was performed at the Ohmadit Children's Hospital, the child was diagnosed with chronic bilateral sensorineural deafness. Initially, Zhenya underwent treatment, but the results did not improve, so the doctors informed the parents that the child needed prosthetics.

The boy's parents live in a small town in the Chernihiv region. The mother works as a nurse, and the father works as a farm worker. Parents collected funds for the first devices on their own. First for one, and a year later for the second. Zhenya is now 12 years old. The devices he uses have broken down, and he cannot fully study at school, communicate with family and friends.

Zhenya is a very cheerful and active boy, kind, has many friends, studies well, despite the fact that he is hard of hearing. He is fond of sports, especially football. He goes to school competitions in this sport and has many medals. And his most cherished dream is a football career.

Currently, parents do not have the necessary funds to purchase new hearing aids for their child. Due to their extremely difficult financial situation, they are forced to ask for help, because they understand that hearing aids are very necessary for a child. Socialization, communication with others and full perception of the surrounding world are very important for children at his age.
