Wow! I can't see, but I study in a regular school!
A completely healthy mother and father had a blind child. Parents are in despair... When he turns 7, the family will have to send their child to one of the five Ukrainian special boarding schools, hundreds of kilometers away from home. For a family, a long separation from a blind son or daughter is a real tragedy... However, there is an alternative – inclusive education, that is, getting an education in a regular school near home. In order for blind children to receive a quality education, they need adapted educational equipment: Braille typewriter, laptop, daisy player, mathematical equipment, maps, etc. Our team will do the rest: prepare textbooks, organize courses for teachers, accompany the child until he graduates from school.
Support this project, and 10 more blind children will be able to study in regular schools and live in their homes instead of boarding schools! We will purchase all the necessary equipment for them and will take care of each student until they reach adulthood. After all, our team is also blind people who have gone through this path and know how to respond to the challenges of fate.
The success stories of blind inclusions cared for by the organization are impressive and inspiring. It all started in 2011 with one blind child – the adopted girl Angelinka Nevolko, who in 2022 graduated from the 11th grade of a regular school and became a student at a prestigious music educational institution. Then no one believed in success, but in vain...
Today we will accompany 45 blind schoolchildren from all over Ukraine aged 6 to 18: Maria Tokar from Dnipro, Diana Paterega from Lviv, Ivan Odeychuk from Rivne region, Diana Petriv from Lutsk, Liza Moskalenko from Mykolaiv region, Olya Buchyna from Khmelnytskyi, Veronika Peretyazhko from Vinnytsia, Vira Semkiv from Ivano-Frankivsk, Solomiya Melnyk from Rivne, Sashko Shpot from Lviv region, Danylo Soroka from Zaporizhzhya region, Daria Bakhtiyarova from Donetsk region, Mykola Negrov from Kryvyi Rih, and others.
Each of them has a specially arranged workplace, without which learning would not be possible and successful: a Braille typewriter, a laptop with speech output, a daisy player, relief maps, tactile mathematical equipment - special compasses, protractors, coordinate planes, etc. After all, these children cannot write with ballpoint pens in notebooks in a cell or a ruler. They have their own special notebooks, sewn from rough cardboard, and their own special writing – Braille, which is read with the fingers. They need separate technical equipment, textbooks, didactic materials.
Therefore, our project aims to purchase sets of modern equipment for 10 new blind inclusions from different parts of Ukraine. The cost of such a set for one child is UAH 67,000. It includes a braille typewriter, a laptop with screen access software, a daisy player, a sound ball, math and relief drawing equipment, and other smaller educational materials.
We continue fundraising for this project, which became even more relevant during the war. To give these children the opportunity to create their own unique success stories and give them a happy childhood in the circle of their families – support us and support our holy goal! These kids are worth it! Correctly and decently organized inclusive education will give strength and confidence to parents of blind children, and will adequately prepare children for future life challenges.
