Veronica needs treatment. 4
For six years now, her mother has been treating Veronika, who has been suffering from epilepsy almost since birth. It all started when the baby was less than six months old. The girl's temperature rose sharply and she started vomiting. This was followed by seizures. After many examinations, doctors diagnosed Veronika with epilepsy, Dravet syndrome. Since then, the girl has been a regular patient in hospitals with pneumonia.
Doctors could not find the right medicine for the child for a long time. Eventually, they succeeded, and Veronika is now free of seizures. But this is achieved by taking a large number of anticonvulsants. The single mom does not have enough money for them, because she and her daughter live exclusively on social benefits.
Veronika is growing up, and her development is progressing a bit. The girl is interested in toys, cars, balls and everything that comes into her sight. She goes outside, but does not communicate with children, because they are cautious about her. Veronika is very happy when someone comes to visit, tries to hug the guest and loves the holidays. So far, her whole life has been spent in hospitals, where she is more often than at home. The girl constantly needs anticonvulsants to prevent her from suffering from epileptic seizures.
