A 15-year-old Uliana, a displaced person from the Luhansk region, needs urgent spinal surgery. The cost of the implant is 274 800 UAH.

For only two weeks, the large Mazin family lived in their native Gorskeafter February 24, 2022. When the shells began to explode in their garden, seven-year-old Edik had gray hair, and five-month-old Alina cried incessantly because of the roar. On March 7 they were evacuated to Pavlohrad. Now, a year later, doctors have scheduled an emergency spinal surgery for their eldest daughter, 15-year-old Uliana. A metal implant for the operation costs 274,800 UAH.

For the first time, problems with the spine arose in 2019, when the girl began to grow rapidly. Family turned to the clinic "Bubnovsky" in Kharkiv. After a course of massage and exercise therapy, there was no improvement. Then Ulia went to the Odessa sanatorium "Lustdorf", but this did not help either.

Then the war began, and the Mazins lost everything they had. Now the family rents an apartment; issued the status of IDP; the father of the family works on part-time jobs.

Already after moving toPavlohrad, Uliana was consulted by an otropedist-traumatologist at the Dnipro Clinic named after. prof. Rudnev. The doctor stated the extreme degree of combined scoliosis, in which the only way out is a complex operation. At the same time, there is a 1% chance that Ulyana will not be able to walk and a 1% mortal end. If the operation is not carried out in the next 5 months, then all internal organs will be compressed on the left and they will simply fail. It is the choice without choice.

Ulia loves life very much. Her kindness and determination will allow her to become an excellent nurse – now she is studying online in the first year of the Pavlohrad Medical College.

After the operation, she will have to spend about a month in bed, then three months to be as careful as possible: do not stumble, do not make sudden movements. Periodically, she will need to visit a doctor for control and for correcting the implant, as Uliana continues to grow.

A year ago, a large family miraculously escaped. Uliana believes that help will come even now. Let's do our best to give Ulia a chance for a healthy life!
